Hammer Nutrition Sponsored athlete Livia Lancelot rules the world!

Livia Lancelot defied a rib injury to take over the lead of the FIM Women's World Motocross Championship with two overwhelming victories aboard her Team 114 Kawasaki at Teutschenthal in Germany.

The French girl had broken one rib in a training crash fifteen days earlier and was content to ease herself into the weekend with third fastest time in practice before scoring clearcut victories in both points-scoring races. Confident of her speed and the performance of her KX250F Kawasaki, she did not start strongly in either twenty-five minute race but moved forward methodically to take the lead three laps from the end of the opening moto and four laps from the end of race two before controlling the remainder of each race from the front. The maximum 50 point scoreline from the weekend in Germany sees Livia move into an eleven point series lead after three races of the seven round series which will continue next month in her native France. For her first race in Europe since 2014, Brazilian Mariana Balbi never really felt comfortable on such a rough track, but never gave up to finish both races in ninth and twelfth position; ninth of the GP, Mariana will enter two French championship rounds to prepare the French GP, her second and last appearance in the Womens series.

Livia Lancelot: “I’m so happy to win both races and get the red plate, but for sure I need to work on my starts even though I get good ones when I train. Today in the second race I was only twelfth in the first corner but came back fast behind van de Ven and Laier; I had very good lines and rode smoothly so I passed both of them to win the race. I wanted to win the GP, especially here as I like this track and it will be great to go to the French GP next month with the red plate. I don’t want to think about the championship, I just want to win races; last year I was thinking too much about the title and in the end I lost it. I’m happy for the team, for all our partners, for Lorenzo our new manager and for Bruno who helped me to train and get these results.”
